Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is a structured therapy that encourages the client to briefly concentrate on the traumatic memory while experiencing bilateral stimulation (usually eye movements, tones, or taps) at the same time. This is associated with a decrease in the physiological and emotional responses associated with the traumatic memories. EMDR has been proven to be an effective psychotherapy method for trauma and PTSD through extensive research and several controlled studies
EMDR can help all ages (infants to adults). EMDR not only helps PTSD, it’s used to address anxiety, phobias, depression and bipolar disorders, dissociative disorders, personality disorders, violence and abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual), and more.
