Compassion fatigue is a condition that impacts those in the helping profession. Medical professions, first responders, law enforcement, therapists, nurses, and other service providers are the most commonly affected by compassion fatigue and empathic distress. Compassion fatigue includes emotional, cognitive, physical, behavioral, religious and spiritual reactions due to helping clients, patients or victims, typically through stressful or traumatic events. Those who deal with other people’s trauma, grief or life crisis every day may experience compassion fatigue.
The World Health Organization defines burnout as "an occupational phenomenon that results from unmanaged chronic workplace stress." Chronic workplace stress can come from coworkers, not feeling supported by one’s supervisor, and poor work culture. Burnout emerges gradually over time as the work-related attributes continue to pile up and are not addressed.

I offer both in-person and virtual appointments - distance should not be a barrier to services! I am licensed to work with clients in Ohio.
The first session is the intake session. During your initial appointment, I will start by going over intake paperwork, confidentiality, and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
The rest of the session will be us getting to know each other! I will ask about your presenting concerns, reasons for seeking services, and treatment goals you may have. I will never force you to share any information you are not ready to bring up.
I am unable to provide clients with ESA letters. I am willing to fill out FMLA paperwork, however, I have some requirements before I will agree to do so. I will agree to fill out FMLA paperwork if a client has been meeting with me on a regular basis for at least 90 days and continues to meet on a regular basis after the paperwork is provided.
I do not specialize or provide faith-based services. I respect all spiritual and religious beliefs and welcome clients from all faith and religious backgrounds.
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost
Health care providers are required by law to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services (i.e. mental health and counseling services).
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
